Privacy Policy

1. What data we collect

None. UnHook X has no analytics, no tracking, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no external servers, and requires no account or sign-in. We do not collect personally identifiable information, browsing history, page content, or usage statistics of any kind.

2. What the extension stores — and where

The only browser permission UnHook X uses is “storage”. It is used exclusively to save your own preferences:

• which interface elements you chose to hide or show;
• your post-limit configuration (posts per window, window length, reset hour, refill settings, self-lock timer);
• interface theme and language.

These settings live in your browser profile (chrome.storage). If your browser syncs extension data between your own devices, that sync is performed by your browser vendor (e.g. Google) under their privacy policy — UnHook X itself never sends anything anywhere. Uninstalling the extension removes its data.

3. What the extension does on web pages

UnHook X runs only on x.com and twitter.com. On those sites it hides or shows page elements according to your toggles, counts posts that scroll into view for the optional post limit, and draws the on-page counter badge. It does not read your messages, does not post on your behalf, does not interact with your X account, and does not touch any other website.

4. Third parties

No data is sold, transferred, or disclosed to third parties — because no data is collected in the first place. The extension makes no network requests to any server of ours (we don't have one).

5. Changes to this policy

If a future version ever changes any of the above, this page and the extension's Chrome Web Store listing will be updated before that version ships.
